I bought a convector heater from Argos. Hw come the thermostat doesn't have a dial?

The product description on the internet says its "thermostatically controlled". Reviews says "the thermostat cuts in when its reached its setting" and "the heater switches off if it reaches the correct temp, it only comes back on if the temp drops below what you set." But there's no dial on the min-max knob! How am I gonna set any temperature like this? Have I been cheated, or how does this work?
